Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara

I recently received the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir mascara complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes. I was very excited try this out because it's a volumizing mascara that claims to have a velvet finish, and the brush and formula seemed really nice as well. It did not disappoint!
Rocking the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara in Black
This mascara definitely gives lots of volume and length as well! I didn't experience any flaking with this mascara, but it does get a little clumpy if you're not careful. It seems to have little fibers in the formula which help build volume without clumping. Make sure to curl your lashes first with a good curler, and add a little primer like I did to get even more volume. Then apply two to three quick coats.

Overall I love this mascara! It builds up super quick so if you're in a hurry to get your makeup done, this is a great go-to mascara! I think it builds enough that I can wear it on natural makeup days, because it gives enough lash to my look. It also is beautifully packed as is appropriate for any luxury mascara.
Beautifully and Luxurious Packaging
A bit pricey but worth every penny for the epically amazing lashes you will rock! Lots of drama! Love it and would recommend!

YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick

Thanks to Influenster I received two full sized YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipsticks this week! What a wonderful surprise to receive this in the mail! They arrived in a black YSL Influenster box wrapped in black sexy tissue.

Here's a look at the first shade, Fuschia #19. As you can see the packaging is very luxurious. The lipstick itself is a rich and highly pigmented formula that glides on with silky smoothness and stays creamy all day. It's very moisturizing on the lips and is a long lasting lipstick. Loving this bright pop of color! So perfect for date night or a girl's night out!

The second color is Stiletto Rose #9, a more subdued and elegant dusty rose shade that is perfect for every day wear. I've received so many compliments while wearing this particular shade and it is quickly becoming my go to lipstick! It even has a wonderful but subtle scent that feels elegant.

Really excited to hit the stores and find out more shades that I will want from this line, like the one Cara Delevigne is wearing in the latest YSL campaign! Hey, if it works for her it could work for me, right? If you haven't checked out the new YSL Rouge Pur Couture lipsticks, what are you waiting for? I'm telling you they're absolutely fabulous and worth the splurge. After all, holiday season is coming up and what better way to celebrate than to have that great lipstick you can whip out of your bag and feel like an adult swiping onto your lips? So ditch the Maybelline this holiday season and glam it up in style!

Daily Reviving Concentrate from Kiehl's review

The latest launch from Kiehl's will have Midnight Recovery Concentrate fans jumping with
joy! Called Daily Reviving Concentrate it's designed to fight daily skin stresses and fatigue,
helping to prevent your skin from looking tired going into night! Over time the concentrate
combats dullness, dehydration and rough texture - all of which I'm certainly keen on, as
it's not just fine lines that can make us look older, it's the all round appearance of the skin.

The new formula includes with ginger root which is an antiinfammatory and anti-oxidant,
sunflower seed oil to smooth and hydrate the skin, and tamanu oil to keep moisture locked in
all day long.  The oil has a pale yellow colour, and feels light on the skin, with a lovely warm
sort of smell which I think comes from the ginger root.

Now as much as I enjoy using Midnight Recovery Concentrate at night, I was sceptical about
using an oil for daytime as I have combination skin.  The Daily Revival Concentrate is to
be used before your moisturiser, so I was concerned I'd be left with a shiny face and that my
makeup would slip and slide on top.  Kiehl's pre-empted that concern, and showed us a study
with side-by side comparison photos demonstrating that skin is left looking no shiner after
applying the oil than it did before.  I really do trust Kiehl's, but even so, when I apply the oil it
sinks straight in to my my skin.  I had no issues with applying my usual products and makeup
over it, and it didn't affect the longevity of my makeup either - success!

Kiehl's Daily Revival Concentrate is the perfect partner for Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate
I'm very careful about which products I apply in the morning because my combination skin likes
to play up and I want my makeup to last, whereas at nighttime I can get away with trying out all
sorts of treatments.  It means my skin is probably missing out during the day, on getting some
much needed support and nourishment, so adding the Daily Revival Concentrate has made a
huge difference for me already.  My skin feels much more comfortable and hydrated all day long,
and I'm  already starting to notice some improvements in smoothness too.

Daily Revival Concentrate launches this September!

YSL Touche Éclat Highlighter Pen

The unmistakable packaging and allure of YSL's Touche Éclat "golden pen" highlighter is a cult product that has probably featured in everyone's makeup bag at some point (I know I have clicked my way through a fair few!). Well now YSL have introduced a new Touche Éclat product, giving this luxury classic a slight twist with a formula infused with gorgeous rose gold particles. This pink-hued version is designed to add instant radiance to your temple, cheekbones, inner corners of your eyes and brow bone and definitely needs to be regarded very much as a highlighter and not a concealer, which sometimes is a confusion point with the original Touche Éclat.

Yves Saint Laurent Rose Radiant Touche Éclat for a limited time only and delivers a sublime blush-pink shimmering light to your skin. With a lightness in consistency and a formula that is easily blended with your fingers it is easy to see why the original Touche Éclat has become so popular and I think this new version is just as lovely. With a few clicks and some precision application, this slimline highlighter adds a rosy radiance to the higher areas of your face and the pearly-pink finish could be likened to Benefit's High Beam which does a similar job. If you are a big fan of the original Touche Éclat then this new Rose Gold edition might be worth checking out. Plus it's a limited edition so stock up quick!

YSL Touche Éclat Blur Perfector Review

Until now, creating perfectly blurred skin was something that could only be achieved via a carefully selected Instagram filter. But thanks to a new innovation by YSL, you can blur your complexion to perfection. And it only takes seconds!

Introducing the YSL Touche Éclat Blur PerfectorCombining the benefits of a balm with the finish of a powder, YSL’s silky soft, perfecting balm acts as an invisible foundation. The formula minimizes visible pores, removes shine and creates the illusion of a immaculate complexion. As I’ve said, this is designed to be invisible – so although it does give skin a subtle rosy radiance, it doesn’t apply pink. The main thing I love about this product is the finish, it really does make your skin feel like silk!

The Touche Éclat Blur Perfector has been designed with us multi-tasking girls in mind. The ultimate beauty hybrid, it can be used as an all over complexion perfector, a finishing touch to complete your makeup routine or as a mattifying touch-up throughout the day. And look just how beautiful the compact is! This is most definitely a keeper!! Fantastic under makeup as well as a great option for those no makeup days… you know when you don’t fancy wearing foundation, but you still want your skin to look flawless. It’s also perfect for keeping your makeup looking fresh throughout the day and like I always thought… it makes for a gorgeous compact mirror.
Have you tried YSL Touche Éclat Blur Perfector? I’d love to know your thoughts.

BirchBox July 2015

Check out how modern chic the July Birchbox looks! I absolutely love the design and colors of this month's box with a very modern and summery theme. Let's take a look at the goodies I received inside!

Klorane Dry Shampoo
Supergood CC Cream
Rusk Heat Shift
Clarisea Salt Scrub
Stila Look At Me Liquid Lipstick in Venezia

Not bad for this month's box at all, and I'm really pleased with all the items I received! Definitely a keeper. Here's my verdict on each product after using for the past week:

Klorane Dry Shampoo - I so very badly wanted to love this product. Unfortunately it left a ton of white residue in my hair. I'm a brunette, so this wasn't the best thing for my hair as it was difficult to brush out. While I love the idea of dry shampoo, this one was not for me (I'm going to stick with my all time fave, R&Co's Death Valley Dry Shampoo).

Supergoop CC Cream - This was a little too thick for my taste as far as primer's go. I'm a little disappointed that I sampled the medium which was far too dark for my skin tone. Nothing to make me want to breakout with my Shiseido Makeup Cream.

Rusk Heat Shift - And we have a winner! Love love love this! Didn't think I would at first, but this product really protected my hair from all the abuse of blow drying and curling and what not. A little sticky but it does the job, holding the style really well long after a blow out.

Clarisea Salt Scrub - This was a nice scrub that needs to be mixed in with your cleanser to exfoliate skin. I'm probably too lazy to take this additional steps on most days but I did appreciate getting the chance to sample this item!

Stila Look At Me Liquid Lipstick in Venezia - A really bright and pretty lip color. Goes on really bold and you do need to use a solid primer under this for it to work, which almost makes me wish that it came with one built in on the other end.
